Church kitchen remodel

We are so thankful. The decision was made Sunday, November 30th, 2025. The kitchen was emptied Tuesday, December 2nd. The demolition started Wednesday, December 3rd. The work was all done Saturday, December 20th. Two and a half weeks. Such a blessing!

Enjoy seeing the different stages of work.

Day 1 - 2 December, 2025

The church sanctuary become a staging area and work zone.

Putting all the contents of the kitchen against the far wall in the sanctuary.

Removing the old cupboards.

Stripping it down.

Progress.

Late night. Time to go home.

Day 2 - 3 December, 2025

Bye-bye sink.

See you later walls and floor.

Cardboard path through the sanctuary.

Taking measurements.

Prepping to frame the new walls.

Day 3 - 4 December, 2025

Running electricity and framing the walls.

So many steps involved.

Looking good.

Day 5 - 6 December, 2025

The workers took a day off, so us ladies could have our annual Christmas tea. I was so proud of everyone doing things without access to a kitchen. It was a lovely time. You can see all the photos here if you’d like.

Day 8 - 9 December, 2025

The sanctuary took on many forms. Here is another one.

Day 14 - 15 December, 2025

New walls and floor.

Day 15 - 16 December, 2025

Drying.

Day 16 - 17 December, 2025

Installation of the back slash. Can you see the laser lines? Django thought this was pretty cool.

All lined up and glued.

Gor gave so much of his time. We are so thankful for him!

IKEA furniture assembly room.

The back splash on the other end.

The lights are pretty cool too.

Day 17 - 18 December, 2025

Cupboard installation.

Day 18 - 19 December, 2025

Cupboard installation continues.

So impressive to see how efficiently these guys worked.

Counter top measured.

Shower door and shower almost ready to go.

Day 19 - 20 December, 2025

Finishing touches.

It goes faster in the beginning at the end.

Dish washer! YAY!!!

Fine tuning wires and attachments.

And TA DA!!! Praise the Lord for these 19 days of of work. I think they had to come back one day and finish calking. We are now able to use it on Sundays, which is so amazing!

This was a super last-minute project, but it is one that Tonio has been wanted to do for years. As soon as Gor let us know his guys were available the 3 weeks before Christmas, we jumped at the opportunity! It has improved not only the kitchen, but the air circulation, water heating system, electricity and insulation. Thank you Jesus for your provision and for this church building. We want to take care of it the best we can! May all who use this kitchen sense your presence and peace and be blessed.

Love Linz
