January Reflection 2025
Here are 3 questions for my January reflection as shared by Emily P Freeman in her monthly email:
1. When was your most celebratory moment of January?
2. Where did you find hope?
3. What's one small change you want to make in February?
1. Our most celebratory moment.
Daphné turned 10 at the beginning of the month! And that also means that we have been parents for 10 years…WUUUUUUT???!!!! She is truly a delight, full of gumption. It is an honor to be her mama, and I love watching this fierce and elegant lady grow up.
2. Where I found hope.
I wasn’t sure about how to answer this one, so I looked in my January pictures for inspiration. Bingo! Here’s my Sunday school prep to teach the parable of the great wedding feast (yes, we had a party). Teaching Sunday school brings me hope. The 6-10 year-olds are full of incredible questions, insightful reflection and a sweet grasp of who Jesus is in their life. Since most of my Sundays are dedicated to leading worship, I can’t teach much. But I look forward with joy to each time I get to be with the elementary kids!
3) One small change for February.
I want to visit this place more. It’s easy enough, just 5 minutes from our home. Big water breathes life into my soul. I even included it in a song I wrote waaaaayyyy back in the early 2000s. This photo was from a walk home from somewhere, and I chose the scenic route rather than the quick route. It might take 10 minutes longer, but it’s a 10 minutes well spent. Also, did you see the flying seagull?
Thanks for coming with me on my reflection journey!
