Hunting crickets and climbing rocks

Welcome to day 4 in Plampinet! The adventures continue, and we are so thankful.

Our hosts live in our same cabin on the floor above us, and they have a mama cat named Zélie and a kitten named Zoro. Daphné visited often.

All of this was worth the sneazing and itchy eyes later. She fell in love with this kitten.

I mean, c’mon. Look at this little beauty, still a bit unstable when it walked with the tiniest little meow. I was loving it too.

Daphné did a year of rock climbing in first grade, and this is the first climb on a real rock. She did great!

She realized after the fact that she should have never looked down when she got up so high. We are proud of her for slowly rappelling down, and she had the encouragement from her friend Xu next to her. That was such a blessing!

The kids playing UNO with some of the group. I love how our kids can adapt in so many different situations. They are such treasures.

And here I am hunting crickets with Django as my spotter. There were literally thousands of crickets everywhere. I only managed to catch 4, but I was so proud of those 4. The wiggling in my cupped hands made me squeal, but usually Pierre came to my rescue to help.

And here is Guillaume sautéing our little hopping friends with olive oil, garlic and salt. I tried 2, and they tasted like crunchy hay with oil and garlic.

Tonio got a closer photo. Poor little guys. Haha.

Selfie on mama’s lap.

Time of worship, teaching and prayer.

Then Django wanted to climb. Tonio said he did great. I was with Daphné at the river.

Our friend Cissou helped him rappel down. Django was so proud of his climbing efforts. He walked a little taller that day.

Hi, I’m in a river and so happy.

My river girl.

Tonio and Django joined us after Django’s climbing. Here the kids make a little side pool in the river.

So special to be here with my people.

Cheese!

Cheesier!

Thanks for enjoying day 4 in Plampinet with us! As you can see, this vacation is a ginormous blessing!

Love Linz
