His and Her Hikes
Tonio and I were able to each go on a hike adapted to our levels, and we met up at a lake in the afternoon. Pierre and Nancy played with the kids to allow us this incredible opportunity. Thank you so much Papi and Mamie!
Remember Jacques from the chicken coop? Well, he has been hiking these mountains for 40 years, so he and his wife were great guides.
Those stormy clouds quickly moved away for our hike.
Hi! I’m in the mountains and loving it!
Up and away.
The sound of this river. Peace.
The wildflowers came in every color.
This is my kind of hike. So thankful to be here!
Panoramic photo of our group. If you didn’t figure it out by now, I went on the scenic, easy hike.
This yellow-orange flower is the arnica plant.
Rivers and waterfalls are some of my favorite states of water.
Lunch time. The French know how to picnic: saucisson, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, cucumber and bread. And of course, everything tastes better in the mountains on a hike.
This lake was the rendez-vous point to meet of up with the other groups.
Waterfall and feet. I’m a happy girl.
Meanwhile, Tonio was enjoying the higher mountains. Remember those clouds from my first pictures? Well, he was up there in them.
His group at the summit.
One of his photos from a lower altitude.
He said they passed several lakes on their hike.
And then, His and Her hikes became our hike =).
Cooling off his feet in the icy water.
It was so cold, I didn’t even last 30 seconds.
Our friend Guillaume took this of us. This really was a special day.
And one more without hats just for fun.
And while all of the above was happening, Papi and Mamie were playing with our kids in a field near our cabin.
Papi playing with his iphone camera. Love these two!
They ate lots of snacks and played lots of games. Thanks again Pierre and Nancy. You are a blessing to us and to our kids.
Walking with our friend Guillaume to dinner.
The best way to end day 3 in Plampinet, reading books with Mamie.
