Where in the world is Plampinet?
Hello there, so glad you are here. We had a really cool opportunity to go on a 3-part vacation (20 July to 4 August, 2024). It was magical. First, we spent a week with a group of hikers in Plampinet in the French Alps. Then, we visited Tonio’s aunt and uncle in Savoie. And finally we spent 3 nights at a vacation rental in Guillaumes, about an hour north of Nice. We are so thankful for this trip and all the memories we made.
To begin, Plampinet entry 1 :
Road trip.
Drove by a gorgeous lake.
Arrived 5 hours later. This swing set quickly became their favorite hang out.
Little walk.
Meeting the other hikers.
Throwing rocks in the river.
So happy to be here with this guy.
“Chickens in freedom” or a better translation would be “free-range chickens.” Y’all didn’t know Daphné could do such a great chicken impression, did you? Hahaha!
Tonio took this of the surrounding beauty.
Places like these restore life to my soul. I love God’s creation!
Good night from the A-frame. The end of day 1 in Plampinet.
Good cloudy morning. The beginning of day 2 in Plampinet.
Tonio and Daphné went on the day hike together.
They hit some rain patches, but nothing to stop this girl.
I love this picture!
Inside a cave.
Django and stayed back and hung out with Mamie and Papi and visited a local church.
My mountain girl.
The church next door to our cabin.
Time of worship with the group.
My mountain boy.
That face!
Walking to dinner.
Jacques, our host, shows the kids how he collects the eggs at night. There is one rooster and 9 hens.
He shows Django and Daphné the wooden egg that he leaves to encourage the hens to lay eggs. What an incredible ending to a lovely day 2 in Plampinet.
