Can you taste summer?
As I type, the kids are at school. It’s Thursday, and tomorrow (5th July) is the last day of school for this school year! Summer seemed so far away, but it is no longer. It’s been a great year overall. The kids really enjoyed their teachers and school. Church has been a blessing. We are thankful for our home. We also realize how wonderful we have it to have Tonio’s parents in the same building, and his aunt just a city over in Antibes.
Basically, I’m just taking inventory of God’s goodness. He is good always, even when life can be difficult. He never changes and is always with us - our Emmanuel.
Enjoy some last snapshots of June and a few from the beginning of July.
Daphné’s blue tongue after some birthday candy from a friend.
We had a clothing swap at church with the ladies. It was a great excuse to just hang out with our sisters in Christ too.
Daphné found this gem to take home and add to her fashion repertoire.
A little visit with a little doggie always makes this girl smile.
Django stayed with Papi and constructed LEGO while us girls swapped clothes.
They also played boy scouts in the yard. Not sure what animal they were trying to catch, perhaps lizards.
Had some friend over after church. Andreas and Django had fun playing “Croque Carottes” together.
Thankful for God’s promise to never flood the earth again. We could see the whole rainbow, though the other side was pretty faint.
Angry birds. Papi added the black background while experimenting with his iphone.
Daphné and Sky for her last lesson of the school year.
Cricri and Papi Pierre came to the horse center to see Daphné ride in person.
This girl is brave and courageous and creative and sassy and empathetic and strong and tender. Horses allow her to be all of this and more. I think it’s safe to say you can look forward to more horse photos in the future of our growing rider.
And here is Daphné all ready for her “kermesse” (end-of-the-year school show).
Django’s class. He is in yellow in the front row with sunglasses. Their class sang and danced to “Celebration.”
Daphné’s class. She is on the right of the photo in the back of the line. Their class sang and danced to “La Cheucheu Synchro.”
We visited some friends, and Daphné was NOT sad that they have 2 German Shepherds.
After school beach picnic with Django’s class. Here he is with his buddy Lorenzo.
I ran the water cannon station. The kids loved spraying each other!
Here is probably half of Django’s class with parents and his teacher in the back in a black shirt. It’s pretty amazing to have such an incredible teacher and fun group of people. We still are so thankful everyday for the kids’ school.
Let’s leave on a sweet note. Peanut butter cookies for the teachers and staff as a thankful for all they do for our kids’ education. I ate way too many…haha!!!
Today is the 4th of July. It never feels like it because I live in France. But I wish my fellow American friends and family a happy 4th of July today!
No matter where we live, no matter what language we speak, we all can have the hope of eternal citizenship in heaven if we turn from our sin and recognize Jesus as our King, our Rescuer and our Savior. Read Romans 10:9 and Ephesians 2:19 for better context. I hope you enjoyed seeing a little bit of our life here on French Riviera. May the Lord bless you,
Love Linz
