Party Animals
January often becomes Daphné’s birthday month. Her birthday is January 9th, but then we often do her party with friends later in the month. It’s mostly a logistical question, since kids are all just getting back from Christmas break. This time, Royal Kids didn’t have any birthday slots until January 22nd. “We’ll take it!” I said, in French, with my American accent.
We are so thankful that all the kids could come. No one got sick before. We had lots of people praying for this day. Thank you if you were one of them. It was a blast. Enjoy the photos. [And Astor, Elgar, Juli and Toma, we wish you could have made it too!]
Here’s the crew : Kenzi, Django, Soraïa, Sami, Daphné, Laureen, Emmanuel, Tanya and Saféya.
Here’s the place.
This is Tanya helping Django through the obstacle course. Daphné’s girl friends did a great job being little mama bears to Django.
Django driving like a boss with big sis backseat driving. Haha.
Now Daphné at the handlebars, and Tanya in back.
Soraïa and Sami, Kenzi and Django, and two gals not from our party.
Can’t go wrong with nuggets and fries. Bon appétit!
I love how excited kids get to give their present. There is such a sense of pride and delight to see the birthday girl open THEIR present that often they picked out. So sweet.
Another group shot. They are so cute! And boy did they get sweaty. Four hours of running around.
Laureen and Django master the slide.
Big building blocks.
Look, we made a slide.
Saféya and Tanya are buddies from 2018 when Daphné first started pre-school. Laureen is her new friend from her new school. And Kenzi was in her class last year, and his little bro Sami is in Django’s class this year. In the whole group picture from up top, Soraïa was also with Saféya, Tanya and Daphné in pre-school. And Emmanuel is our buddy from church. I love how Daphné is such a faithful friend even when friends move away or she goes to a different school. I told her she has good friends because she is one.
How cute is this? Their coats and shoes. I love this organization!
Next day Daphné gives a thumbs up for her new shirt from Emmanuel.
Merci Saféya!
Merci Tanya!
Merci Soraïa!
Merci Laureen!
(and I didn’t get a picture of the LEGOS from Kenzi and sparkle beads from Sami - Merci!)
Seven is good age. Here in France, they called it the age of reason, “l’âge du raison.” It is also a significant number in the Bible, representing completion. God had finished creating the world on the 6th day and rested on the 7th. I find as Daphné grows, she just gets easier and easier… perhaps this is a year of rest for mama. HAHAHA!!! Ya right. There’s still a little 4 year-old trotting around. We love our girl and our guy.
Big hugs from Nice,
Love Linz
