Daphné turns 7 and Surprise!

Our beautiful girl turned 7 on January 9th. It’s really fun to watch her become her own person, full of personality and life and love and joy. It is a delight to cheer her on. We are so humbled and thankful that God has chosen us to be her parents. Wow. So amazing. Enjoy some photos from her actual birthday day and some pictures following from a pretty cool surprise visit from some pretty cool people.

Birthday mornings call for dressing up. Birthday girl with Captain America.

We got to go to church, so I sent a cake for her Sunday school class.

After church, we invited a few friends to come eat pizza and celebrate our Daphné with us. Mamie Nancy and Papi Pierre were there too of course.

Bold, Daring and Wild.

Doll clothes from Aunt Kellee and Uncle Mark.

Opening a gift from Grandpa Tim and Grandma Kathy.

So excited about undies, socks, a shirt, markers and a notebook.

Have you guys ever heard of kiwico? It’s a subscription for these really cool boxes that contain science crafts and experiments. My mom and dad bought the kids a year subscription. They LOVE when they show up in our mailbox! We are on boxes 3 out of 12 boxes. Yeehaw. Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa!

The best books from Cricri and Robie!

Piggy bank that looks a lot like little bro. Ha.

She got the fève from the gallette des rois.

Look alike.

Me, Grégorie, Pascal, Rodlhann, Tonio, Thomas, Django and Daphné, the birthday girl!

Opening the door for the surprise visitors. Who is it?!!!

I heard that she was stunned and didn’t really react, definitely surprised!

It’s Tonton Sebastien and his family!!!

She was so excited!

As she held her little cousin Nils, she said, “Mama, this was the best birthday present ever!”

The next morning wearing a shirt that Grandma and Grandpa sent her.

A walk to the sea and back.

Tata Maïna and cousin Nils.

Cousin Noé and Django, little clean monkeys eating bananas.

Happy cousin sandwich.

Introducing Bluey to cousin Noé. Last picture with our surprise guests before they left to return to Paris.

Django also got a kiwico box from Grandma and Grandpa!

Thanks Tonton for the belated Christmas gift. The kids love this story telling box.

Rock climbing big sis helping little bro.

I got to have a date with Django while Daphné was with some friends at a trampoline park.

Playing a card game that his speech therapist let us borrow.

Is he not the cutest?!!! Lots of pictures with him, because he was home almost 2 weeks straight due to Covid, strikes, no substitute teachers and him being sick. Phew.

I just love this rosy-cheeked red head.

Waiting for Daphné to finish her rock climbing class.

Stopped to see Papa at work.

The fruit of visiting the library. We checked out 17 books!!! I love our little book worms.

“We gather to celebrate,

and to give thanks that their life and days

are woven with ours, that we might share

the joys and burdens of life together,

delighting in the ways your glory is reflected

in the unrepeatable gift of their being.

“You have created each of us, O Lord,

to bear your image in a unique expression,

reflecting a facet of your glory

in a way that no other person

in all of history will,

so that by knowing one another

we might also know you better.”

Daphné helps us know God’s joy in a tangible way. We love you beautiful girl.
