Traveling Back Home
We’ve been back in France for 2 weeks, and the joy of this trip to California is still bubbling over in my soul. Jesus knows us each so individually and intimately. He knew I needed this trip. The timing was perfect, though a year later than I would have liked. Haha. Merci Madame Corona. But the ages of the kids and their interactions were just so precious in these particular stages and ages. I’m so incredibly thankful for my husband planning the trip, getting the tickets, taking care of all the rigamarole with virus tests and passport updates and leading our little tribe across the Atlantic and the entire expanse of North America, there and back. What a journey! What memories! Here are the last few photos taken in California and all the photos from our trip back home.
Speaking of memories, Daphné lost her VERY FIRST tooth with Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Tim right before we left in the car to drive to LAX for our red eye flight. I love that they got to be a part of this monumental moment.
Such a beautiful smile. Holding her tiny tooth.
In LAX coloring. These kids are star travelers. I’m so thankful!
And this was super special. My friend Joanna from Montana was coming to California for a wedding and changed her flight to time it just right to meet us at our gate in LAX. The planets aligned, and I got to spend a solid hour with my beautiful friend. Thanks so much JoJo for changing everything just to see me. I love you!
Getting settled in for 10-1/2 hours of flying. It was nice to have a bigger plane, so we could have the 4 middle seats all together.
We all slept on the way back, but he gets the prize for getting the most comfortable.
Our little cherub.
Landed in Zurich and now on a quick flight back to Nice.
Bye Switzerland!
New toy saved the day!
Ready or not Nice, here we come.
Window seats are so fun for kids.
In chill mode.
New puzzle.
Almost home. Those islands are off the coast of Cannes, which is a few cities away from Nice.
God has created so many beautiful places, and we are floored that we get to live in one of them. The French Riviera is pretty spectacular.
Photo by Pierre who came to pick us up at the Nice airport. He’s on the other side of the glass. We are so happy to be home!
Jet lag in full force.
Our first full day back, we decided to let the sea help wash off some of the jet lag. Nine hour difference can be tricky coming back this way. Thankfully, as I’m typing this blog, we are all back to normal. Django enjoyed my hat upsidedown like a dog’s cone of shame. Ha!
I got a new iphone with the fancy portrait mode, and I’m stoked!!! Look at that sweet little red head. Oh man, I sure do count my blessings.
We are thankful for a safe trip home. We will remember with fondness our time in California and look forward to our next visit. Until then, we can’t wait to get back into the swing of things here. Django turns 4 soon, and the kids start school just a week or so after that.
Thanks for being a part of our journey by following along with us. We are thankful for the God who gives us our next breath.
Love Linz
