Traveling
And thus begins our adventure to California… it was a longer journey than usual, but we are so thankful to have made it safe and sound. Without further ado, I give you 30 hours of travel (some of it was spent sleeping in a hotel in Germany). Enjoy!
Pierre dropped us off at the airport in Nice. It’s such a blessing that we live only 10 minutes away.
Waiting in line to check our bags. I gave the kids some fidget toys to occupy them. They are seriously such great travelers.
Making fun from of every moment.
Avions!*
The boys.
The girls.
Saying au revoir* to the Mediterranean Sea.
Getting settled in her little nook for the hour and a half flight to Frankfurt, Germany.
She loves having a soundtrack while she creates.
After this photo, we landed in Frankfurt, took a shuttle from the airport to a hotel, got checked in, showered, slept, and woke up early to take a shuttle back to the airport.
In the lobby of the hotel before we hopped on the shuttle to go back to the Frankfurt airport to catch our flight to Los Angeles!!! Django is plugged in and ready to go.
And this was the seating arrangement for 10-1/2 hours. It was a 3-3-3 seating chart. Normally, if we are in a bigger plane, we get the 4 seats in the middle section (4 of the 5), so we are all together. It was nice being by the window this time.
Saying auf wiedersehen* to Germany.
Thankfully, Django took a 3-hour nap during the flight. He ended up like this at one point. His legs were on my backpack and his torso on the seat. Kids can travel so compactly.
I was exhausted and pretty sick, but I was thankful to be traveling with my amazing husband and well-behaved kids. This is just before we landed in LA.
Look out below, Los Angeles here we come!!!
After 10-1/2 hours, it’s always so wonderful to get off the airplane.
Heading down to collect our baggage.
This kid is so fun. He knows how to find a seat and chill. This is what he did while we collected our bags.
And that concludes our travels. My parents picked us up, and we headed straight to west LA to see my 98 year-old grandmother, Betty. More to come. Stay tuned… the adventures are happening faster than my blogging pace. Haha. We thank Jesus for our safe travels and for this opportunity to come visit my family. After having to cancel our trip last year, this year just felt like the biggest sigh of happy relief and joy. Thanks for stopping by!
