June Joy
I’m late in keeping this blog updated, but the important thing is that I’m here now. Thanks for being here too. As I type, I’m sitting in the living room in the house where I grew up in Agoura Hills, California. We are having a wonderful time with my family. It’s been 4 1/2 years since our last visit.
This post will give you a glimpse of the first weeks of June in Nice, France before our departure for California. Enjoy!
After a run*, there’s nothing better than a dip in the incredibly clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. (*I’m slowly working on my goal to run 30 times this year. I’ve made it to 14 so far, and I run 20-25 minutes… it’s not much for the average runner, but it’s A LOT for me. I’m so thankful the Lord is accompanying me in this goal and helping my knees stay calm.)
Daphné with her buddy Saféya at the park after school.
Before, during and after. I used to be a blond without the help of a salon. Haha. Being blond makes me so much happier. Seems silly, but it’s not…. not for me.
Django often finds a wheeled object at the park to borrow.
Helping mama mop the balcony.
We had a Brazil party at our home with Reynan, Ilusca and Ana after church. We love our church family. Each person is such a blessing and gift to us.
Beach day. It’s super fun to live near the airport and see the planes coming in and taking off.
This is the view from Daphné’s seat in the kitchen. As you can see, the countdown chain only has 5 links left!!!
Since the kids don’t have school on Wednesdays, we often go to a park or do something different. Today, we went to our little mini zoo. Crocodiles! They’re not even scared.
Flamingos.
Mamie joined us, and Django enjoyed playing with her hat. As you can see by his rosy cheeks, it was HOT!
Communicating with parrots.
Turtles, swans and carp.
Gift bags and letters for all the teachers and teaching assistants to thank them for all the hard work they do and for loving our Daphné and Django so well!
Four links until take-off!
Last week of school needed a little motivation. Tonio’s shoulders help Django get to school with a little more pep.
I received this picture in an email from the woman in charge of the cafeteria at their school. They had a day celebrating the “Pan Bagnat,” which is a Nice specialty sandwich. They are super yummy if you like tuna. Read about them here.
Last day of school for our two kiddos. We went to the park afterwards, as usual, and Django enjoyed playing with his buddy Lukas.
And here is the last picture from the last day of school for our kids. Django, Saféya, Daphné and Thayron. The rest of the kids are still actually in school until July 7th.
Thanks for loving our family by being interested enough to read about our lives. We thank the Lord for all of you who love us and pray for us. And visiting season is opening back up again soon… come visit us (when we get back there of course…hehe!)
Love Linz
