Beach house
This was the moment we had all been waiting for… It was planned for June 2020… got pushed back to June 2021. Last year, we were heartbroken. This year, we had hearts overflowing with joy. It really made me think about this verse in the Bible:
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.” -Proverbs 13:12
I really felt life seeping back into my soul after spending 10 days of concentrated time with my Tonio, Daphné, Django, my parents, my sister Chelsey and her husband Brett, their kids, my friend who is basically my big sister and lots of others who joined us. It was a huge rental house on a beach in Oxnard, CA. After taking over 200 photos and videos, I narrowed it down to 46 highlights for you to enjoy. I hope you can see the goodness of God in each of these moments. He truly is so very very GOOD. I am thankful for Him and for my family.
Upon arrival, Pancho, Rowdy and Django decided to check the digability factor of the sand. I love this picture that my friend Crystal took!
Auntie Kellee and Uncle Mark blessed the kids with fun goody bags and beautiful personalized towels.
These boys, Django and Rowdy, born 3 days apart at the end of August 2017, are so sweet and tender and fun!
The first morning wake-up looked like this. Django, the inchworm. He did indeed start on the bed. Ha!
First morning at the beach house and the morning’s brew, bottle and coffee.
Daphné enjoys a chocolate croissant with sleepy Grandpa Tim. It’s so fun waking up with the people I love!
My dad took this shot, and I absolutely love it! Here I am chatting and catching up with my sister as some of our littles play. Chelsey and I have talked so much on the phone this past year, but there is nothing like being in someone’s presence physically. I love you sis!!!
Me and my sister Chelsey and our adopted big sister Crystal! Rowyn, my sister’s oldest girl, and Daphné are in the background.
Morning Star Wars puzzle with Auntie Chelsey.
Daphné, Rowyn and Rowdy ready to hit the beach.
Weeeee! Sandy beach for days!
My sister and her fancy iphone took this beautiful picture of our Daphodil. We call her our little mermaid.
Our friend Crystal’s son Micah came to stay with us too. He found a crab for the cousins. There was lots of screaming and laughing. Haha!
Either my sister or Crystal took this shot… so funny! Little Rocky in purple was unphased.
I called this Babysitter Hill. It was a perfect little sand dune outside of our rental house. The kids rolled down it, surfed it, dug holes in it and stayed close.
We celebrated Rowyn’s 6th birthday on June 20th. This cousin hug made my heart full. Thanks sis for this picture!
Here’s the group picture, a fun group celebrating a fun girl!
The tattoo gang. Auntie Crystal had a lot of fun with a sharpie. I love how serious the kids are. Ha!
Sunny shades. I love this bud!
Clean cousins in pajamas playing the Bible game on Grandpa’s phone.
My beautiful friend Crystal enjoying God’s majesty. The sunsets were pretty incredible.
Riding the beach cruisers into town to get donuts! So fun!
Corn hole competition.
Django and Rowdy ready to storm the park with nerf guns.
Cousin love. Rowyn and Daphné are only 6 months apart. The play well together and squabble well with each other. Haha!
Taming the sea serpent.
Rowdy, Rocky, Django, Daphné and Rowyn watching Turbo.
Running away from the white water. It is such a treat to have sand. Nice is beautiful, but it lacks sand and waves, big time.
Digging in the sand with my cousin Charlotte.
Let’s go fly a kite! Django liked letting the string go and watching the adults scramble. Needless to say, he wasn’t allowed to hold the kite without our help after almost letting the kite fly to the next city. HAHA!
My friend Crystal’s son Micah bought poppers for the kids. They all had a blast!
Bubbles!
Auntie Crystal transforms Daphné and Rowyn into mermaids.
A beautiful photo bomber on little Rocky.
Practicing his stance. I wonder if he will be goofy or regular.
Some of the gang at sunset : Micah, Django, Taylor, Rowyn, Rowdy, Brett, Crystal, Rocky, Chelsey and me.
In awe of God’s creation. I think Rowdy might even be saying, “AWE!”
Family picture. Daphné is hiding behind her mermaid hair.
We are so thankful to be here together. Django is roaring, can you hear him? ;)
She loves her papa so much! I enjoy watching their relationship. It’s precious.
My big sis and me.
Girlie selfie.
There were 6 bedrooms, and everyone decided we should have the master suite. It was fabulous!
Here’s the view through our bedroom doors. Epic. Surf check was easy from bed.
Heading home. Rowyn and Daphné enjoyed the back seat together, but Daphné was sad to be leaving the beach house.
And the boys, just stoked to be holding cars inside a car.
Here’s a fun little list of who either stayed or stopped by: our family (me, Tonio Daphné, Django), Grandpa Tim, Grandma Kathy, Brett, Chelsey, Rowyn, Rowdy, Rocky, Crystal, Micah, Pancho the doggie, Dylan, Taylor, David, Monika, Tad, Lis, Caelin, Dave, Tegan, Caden, Charlotte, Jeremiah, Daniel, Aunt Maggie, Alyssa, Braden, Julie, Uncle Mark, Aunt Kellee, Aunt Camille, Trisha, and Auntie Pat.
