Short month.
Cheers to February! It always comes and goes so quickly. It’s one of my favorite months and not just because of my birthday. Valentine’s Day is super fun for me, too. Perhaps it’s the American in me remembering passing out valentines to my classmates at school and getting a bunch in return. February is also the winter hump… Christmas has faded in the distance; spring is almost here. It’s hopeful. Since February contains 28 days, here are 28 pictures for you to enjoy!
This guy had a few days of a fever.
We watched Monster’s University on repeat, which inspired Daphné’s craft. This is Mike Wazowski. And I love Daphné’s eyes in this photo.
Heading to school. Django was home sick.
My mom sent me these cool blank crowns, so Daphné and I had fun decorating.
After school, we often go to the park that is across the street from their school. Here is Daphné with 2 of her buddies, Adam and Ilan.
On Wednesdays, we sometimes visit the local library. We found this fun book, and Django enjoyed listening to the story of the man who inspired his name.
I love when she dresses herself.
Here we are at the library.
We had some errands to run in Antibes, so we dropped in to see our favorite Antibes family, Cricri and Rob! Thanks for the yummy lunch guys. Best restaurant in Antibes! 4 stars!
Daphné and her closest friend, Saféya. These two have been great friends for 3 years since they started school in 2018.
You may have heard us refer to Daphné as our Daphodil. Her Tonton Seb nicknamed her when she was just a few days old. It has been an endearing name ever since. So, when I saw these beautiful Daffodils at the hardware store, I had to get them for our beautiful Daphodil.
Daphné got a new scooter and helmet!
We brought the pack up from the garage to get ready to sell it. As you can see, Daphné and Django wanted one last ride. Haha!
Here’s my amazing husband leading worship before he teaches. I took a much-needed break for 2 1/2 months, and I’m thankful that Tonio could take over.
Big boy at the park.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee! (Is there anything else to write when one slides down a big slide? Hehe!)
Daphné and Django helped me make heart-shaped sugar cookies to give to their teachers and assistants at the school for Valentine’s Day.
Daphné dressed up as Tinkerbell for the Carnaval (Mardi Gras) party at her school. Did you know that Mardi Gras is French? Fat Tuesday. Mardi = Tuesday. Gras = Fat.
Django dressed up as Marshall from the show “Paw Patrol.” A big thank you to Uncle Mark and Aunt Kellee for these fun costumes you sent in the mail =)!
We went to the beach in a nearby city to hang out with our friend Edgar and his kiddos, Hector and Béryl. Daphné and Hector get along really well together, even though they only see each other 2 or 3 times a year.
Here’s Edgar with his precious Béryl catching up with Tonio.
Django is not at all interested in the water, but give him a bucket and a shovel, and he’ll be content for hours.
He figured out how to make a sand castle all by himself, and he was so excited, almost surprised, that he made something so cool! As some of you know, the beach in Nice is all rocks, so our kids aren’t familiar with sandy beaches.
The love of a big sister and the cuddles of a little brother.
Here we are at the beach in Nice. The winter storms create large piles of rocks, which create large opportunities for adventures.
My two grocery shopping helpers.
Papi Pierre made this car with the kids. So fun!
A crown of “laurels” for the bike champion. Daphné learned how to ride a 2-wheel bike without training wheels this month! Huge milestone! We are so proud of her. (*Daphné’s name mean “laurels” or “lauriers” in French, so this crown is perfect for her. Papi made it.)
Thanks Mamie and Papi for spending so much time with our treasures. We thank the Lord for you guys.
I hope you all enjoyed a little tour of our February. And of course, I only show you the best and happiest. Haha! Don’t be deceived. Life is not perfect, but we serve a perfect God. Thankfully, He is with us always in our ups and downs and sadness and joy.
“I will never leave you or abandon you.” - God (Hebrews 13:5)
