Good friends and Beach day

The beginning of this post includes the kids hanging out with Grandpa and Grandma while Tonio and I drove to Ventura to visit our friends Dave and Inga-lill. Then I got to see my good friend Julie. Django and Rowdy fought their bots. And the bulk of the post includes a super fun day at the beach with my sister and our kids. Spoiler alert!!! Daphné learned to surf!!! Enjoy!

Daphné became quite a faithful assistant to Grandpa Tim and his 1951 Ford pick-up truck restoration.

She helped buff out the rust after applying an acid coat.

Then she painted over the “fresh” surface.

Meanwhile Django was painting with Grandma Kathy.

And then playdoh.

He made his self-portrait.

She made a donut.

And here we are with Dave and Inga-lill Guzik in Ventura. Dave officiated our wedding almost 15 years ago. We love this couple and their family so much. They are the real deal, encouraging and always pointing us all back to Jesus.

And look, it’s Julie! She was 4, and I was 5 when we started car pooling to pre-school and kindergarten. We’ve been friends ever since. Christian school for 10 years, then public school. She went to Westlake. I went to Agoura. Then she went to USC. I went to PLNU. We sent recorded messages on cassettes tapes back and forth one summer I was a camp counselor in Santa Cruz. We have been through highs and lows and encouraged each other keep our feet on the Rock. She is a gem, a gift from the Lord. I love you Jules!!! Keep up the great work mama!

Rowdy and Django having a bot war. I love my Tonio in the background.

Now I give you beach day. Django and Rowdy and throwing “surfer Bob” in the water, and he surfs back to the them.

I love these girls! They love each other. Rowyn and Daphné are best cousin-friends.

Being with my sister is such a blessing!

Auntie Chelsey pushed Daphné on her first wave, and Daphné stood up on her first try. She had many waves after this one. I love that Rowyn is cheering her on in the background.

Arms out!

Rowyn’s turn!

Rocky and Django surveyed the construction efforts.

They were joined by Rowdy after Rocky had another outfit change.

I like this picture a lot. Happy toes in the sand and salt.

Boogie boarding! Yay!

Snack inhalation after all the fun of the day.

And to finish off the day, some sand crab silliness with the older cousins.

Truly thankful. Sometimes I get to the end of a blog post, and I don’t have many words left. Thank you God for my family, for our friends and for this life you allow us to live. May we bring you glory in every moment.

Love Linz
