Parent-kid day at the pony club
Daphné’s horse center offerred a 3-hour morning workshop with our kids. It was so fun, and I really hope they do it again! She rode, then I rode, and it was super special to share this time together.
Getting ready
Daphné teaching me how to tie the slip knot on the halter lead.
There was a sweet mom taking pictures of all of us. We were 6 kids and 6 parents.
Stephanie, our instructor, explains how the morning will look.
Going to get her buddy Atari.
Walking out of the corral.
Brushing Atari’s muddy legs.
I was assigned to ride Akilon. He is a beautiful horse.
I love brushing horsies.
Daphné teaching me about English saddles.
My turn to try.
Me and my girl with our trusty steeds.
Daphné on Atari
I love her smile. She is enjoying horses more and more.
Turning.
Two enthusiastic thumbs up.
The kids and their horses.
Galloping. Yee haw!
Horsie selfie.
I love that Daph and I were both in pink.
I LOVE her!!!
Lindsey on Akilon
Here we go.
Sitting in an English saddle felt so strange having grown up in a western saddle.
Akilon was definitely taking advantage of the “newbie” on his back. Ha!
I tried remembering lessons from my childhood - heals down, elbows in, sit up straight…so much to remember to do at the same time.
Feels good to let our feet dangle.
Good babies! Patting our horsies and thanking them in French.
Daphné couldn’t believe how high I was. This is only the second time she has seen me on a horse. The first time was a very unfortunate day that she actually had Scarlet Fever, and we had to go home quickly.
You can see that blogpost HERE!
Isn’t this just so special? I love sharing this with Daphné. Akilon is mildly interested.
Special thanks to Le Centre Equestre AGASC in Saint-Laurent-du-Var and to my girl who patiently watched her mama ride terribly. Haha!
