Old castle and best vacation EVER!

Our last two days in Guillaumes - August 3-4, 2024. More pool time and some exploration.

Watching a bit of the French men's beach volleyball team, playing Australia in the Olympics.

Let's go on a tour of our vacation rental.  The kitchen is on the ground floor.

Then up one flight of stairs was the kids' room, along with the toilet and shower.

The view from their bedroom.  See the castle?

Mine and Tonio's room on the next level up.  All the stairs were not super easy with my hurt coccyx, but I just went slow.

The view from our room.

Swings.

Fun toys.

Back in the pool.

Let's go explore the castle that we've been seeing from afar.

She cracks me up.

Thumbs up.  It's an old castle called "Chateau de la Reine Jeanne" built in sections and restored between the years of 1235 to the 1500s.

Can you see the pool where we have been swimming?

Just walking by a super duper old castle, no big deal.

View from the other side.  I'm always impressed how the architecture and building methods hold up over hundreds of years.

Going on a walk.

We were checking out a property for sale, just for kicks and giggles.

Those rock formations reminded me of making drip castles in the sand at Zuma Beach when I was little.

And that’s a wrap folks. This has been my favorite vacation ever! I like visiting my family in California. I like visiting Tonio’s family in Seattle. I like going to Austria. But none of those are refreshing to me. Good and fun, yes, but I always feel drained after. This vacation was the perfect blend of enjoying God’s gorgeous creation, hiking, swimming, family time and just chillaxing. Thank you Jesus!
