October 2024 reflection
I do these reflections to remember and grow. To remember God’s faithfulness and goodness. To grow by observing how I could do things differently. Thanks again as always to Emily P. Freeman for these questions. Sure, it’s almost the middle of November, but I am a firm believer that anytime is a good time for reflection.
Here are the questions.
1. What's something good that grew in October?
2. What is one thing you learned about yourself in October?
3. What's something you're looking forward to in November?
1. Something good that grew.
My confidence in who God has made me with all my weaknesses and strengths. I started therapy again to check in on some areas that seemed to need some attention. My therapist is amazing in how she can remind me of the gifts God has given me. She encourages me to embrace these things and remember that I am God’s workmanship, His poem (Galatians 2:20). I’m so thankful. (above - photo I took for my mama one Sunday morning before church to show her my colorful top.)
2. One thing I learned about myself this month.
I really enjoy going in a steam room. Tonio and I went away for two nights to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary (thank you again Pierre and Nancy for watching the kids so we could do this). Near the hotel’s indoor heated, salt water pool, they had a steam room or “hammam.” I did 20 minutes here, 30 minutes there, hopped in the pool, steam room again. I would pray and thank the Lord for the time of stillness. It was magical. (above - enjoying the beach together near our hotel. I’m so thankful for this guy.)
3. Something I’m looking forward to in November.
Since it’s already the 12th of November as I type, I will address this question to the rest of November. I’m really looking forward to going on a field trip with Django’s class as a chaperone, and I am excited to see how God will answer our prayers with the crazy administrative tasks at church. Tonio has so much on his plate, and every year God helps him. I look forward to seeing God walk with my husband through these trials. (above - I took this picture this morning from our balcony, and it reminded me that God’s mercies are new every morning! Thank you Jesus!)
How about you? How would you answer these questions? I find so much life in reflection. May God surprise you today in something simple.
Love Linz
