Created Colorful
You guys, I had NO idea. NO. I-DEA. This whole color palette stuff is for real and actually super fun. I bought myself a color consult from Created Colorful for my 42nd birthday this year, and I am SO glad I did. I sent in two rounds of pictures of me draping certain colors over my shoulders.
The experts then analyze the colors with my eyes, hair color, skin tone, etc… and write back with the most encouraging, sweet email EVER! And they tell me what color palette I land in, and how I can best embrace that.
Follow me through the journey of trying on lots of different colors. Super fun for me!
Preparing the colors. I had to borrow some clothes from Nancy and my friend Elodie (thanks girls!)
Poppy red, chili pepper red, burgundy.
Carrot orange and other oranges.
Canary yellow, saffron, light green.
Grass green, faded teal, olive green.
Various shades of turquoise.
Sky blue, gem blue, robin egg blue.
Lavender, dusty purple, grape.
Various shades of peach and coral.
Dusty pink, watermelon pink, berry pink.
Cream, gray, steel gray.
Black, navy, bright navy.
Tan, khaki, rust brown.
These are the colors that the color consultant thought were my WOW colors. What has made this whole process so fun is opening up my horizon to try new colors. I never wear red or orange, because I just thought they didn’t look good on me. Well, cheers to trying new things!
Drum roll please…. I am a WARM SPRING. What’s so funny about this is when I received the email, it was a warm spring day. Total coincidence, but fun nonetheless. As you can see, it is super helpful to know what are my best colors and which colors I should avoid.
I’ve always been drawn to warm, bright colors, not really knowing why. Well, now I understand. It’s probably because I am drawn to the colors I feel I look best in. Who knew?
If you thought this was fun, I HIGHLY recommend checking out Created Colorful to buy yourself a consult. Not a sponsor. Haha! I just love to share what works for me. And the gal who started the company is named Lindsey too. So fun.
The 170-or-so dollars I spent on this is incredible knowledge that I can use the rest of my life to make wise purchases. It has already made shopping so much easier. I walk in, scan the store for some of my colors, and leave if I don’t see any. Such a life saver for your girl who does NOT like shopping. Thrift stores, on the other hand, well, I’ve got more patience for those treasures. Haha.
I hope you enjoyed. I love that God has made us all with color in mind. He didn’t create a black and white world, praise the Lord! Let’s embrace some color, and that’s coming from a girl who lives in France. France loves black, but that just happens to be ONE of my colors to avoid. Haha!
