Hey guys, don’t you love going to a fun wedding that includes a weekend getaway with your spouse? I do. I do. We do. We do. Thank you to our amazing Papi and Mamie for watching the kids so we could go! Enjoy some photos from our trip the weekend of the 6th, 7th and 8th of August.

The road trip was 7 hours. Most of it was just freeway, but the end was beautiful fields like this.

Tonio booked a room in this beautiful country villa for two nights.

We went out to dinner the night we arrived after driving all day. I love sitting across from his French sassiness.

Painting my fingers and toes for the ceremony. As I type this post, my toes are still this color, but I had to remove the nail polish after it mostly chipped off.

Waiting for the groom and bride to arrive at the church. The ceremony was inside this spectacular Albi Cathedral that was built in the 1300s. You can read more about it in English or French.

Here comes the groom and his mom. Wil and Tonio have played soccer together for over 10 years. They are still on the same team.

Our table was composed of 5 of Tonio’s soccer teammates and a few of the plus ones (me included). It was fun to get to know them a little bit.

And there we go, eyes closed, smirk, mouth open laugh. We enjoy each other’s company, can you tell?!

And just one more because it’s not often that we have (non-selfie) pictures of us dressed up.

The groom, Wil, and Tonio. Wil is the team captain and does such a great job organizing games and practices. I’m sharing the better of two pictures because, in the other one, Wil’s eyes were fully closed.

As is common for French weddings, there was a brunch the next day at the same location where we had the reception. It’s always so fun to spend a little more time with the guests and the bride and groom in a less busy environment. This picture is driving to the castle again.

It’s hard to see, but there is a beautiful river behind us.

Here, one of the teammates (Bastien, who actually carpooled with us both ways) gives Wil and Marine a fun gift from the soccer team.

We had a really great time. It was fun to attend a wedding as a guest and not as the person doing the music or officiating, though we do love doing that as well. Thanks Wil and Marine for a great party! I hope you guys all enjoyed these pictures.
