June 2026 reflection
Hi there, I realized my last reflection post was for the month of January. Wow. It’s been a few months. I really like doing these, so let’s get into it. As I mention every time, these come from an email I receive from Emily P. Freeman who has the podcast called, “The Next Right Thing.”
Before we get to the 3 reflection questions, let me just say that I have the coolest husband. He has been playing football (soccer) since he was young. And he’s been playing with this team since 2006, 20 years! They have won the championship 4 times and the cup twice. We had a fun end-of-the-year barbecue with all the families. I love that Tonio has this team! (not all pictured)

1) Milestones marked in June.
Relationship milestone.
Being able to connect with our Daphné in a special way in going to the Star Academy show together. She thanked me for being with her and said she had so much fun! I had a blast too.
Parental milestones.
Watching Daphné and Django pass their swimming exams to move up levels next season. They were both so proud! And Tonio and I are proud too.
Daphné now has a full set of braces. Big changes.
Django is becoming a little book worm.
Django lost his 3rd tooth, one of the front upper teeth. He’s adorable with a big hole in his mouth.
2) Something that surprised me.
Daphné and her friends liked having me as their chaperone for the class field trip to Village des Fous. Imagine that. They said things like, “Can you come on all our field trips?” “Thank you Daphné’s mom; you’re the best.” “We are so happy to be in your group.” I can really struggle with believing my presence matters to others, so hearing these things from Daphné and her friends was really special. I equally enjoyed my time with them, as you can see in the Village des Fous blog post.
3) The best thing I ate in June.
Homemade fondant au chocolat made by our friend Romane (wearing black below). We were invited over for lunch, and my taste buds were in heaven. First, an amazing entrée, then delicious homemade lasagna. I was super content with that. Dessert is always fun, but I never expect it. Then, she brought out a literal tiny mountain of individual fondants au chocolat. I even asked for the recipe. It was her French grandmother’s recipe - jack pot! I can still taste it.
I praise the Lord for His goodness, always! Even if I don’t write a reflection post every month, I write daily in my joy journal. It’s so beautiful to see the little and big ways God moves in our lives. It’s humbling and incredible! I love Him so much. I hope you are encouraged to think about some of these questions.
Also, “I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19
