Monet in Monaco
From July to September 2023, there was an exhibit in Monaco of Monet’s work that he painted while on the French Riviera. It was so fun to see some of his classics and then ones of familiar places. Daphné and I went with some friends from church, Ellie and her daughters Jess and Abi. (August 28, 2023)
I found this cool overview of the exhibit from the museum. Enjoy our pictures below! [Disclaimer : my pictures of Monet’s works of art do not do them justice… obviously]
Me, Jess, Daphné, Abi and Ellie walking to the museum from the parking garage.
Photo opportunity in front of a beautiful backdrop.
Just borrowing Monet’s paint brush, no big deal.
Jess and Daphné reenacting the painting.
I love enjoying art with my girl.
These sails stood out across the room. I really like the reflection.
Bridge.
Antibes.
Another one of Antibes.
His famous lily pads.
Chrysanthemums. They matched my earrings.
Taking a little break.
A sweet moment with my Daphodil.
Monet on his bridge that inspired so many of his paintings.
Ellie captured this one.
Daphné doodling in her notebook, inspired by Monet’s paintings.
I took a picture of what she drew. It’s fun to see all that she creates.
In the gift shop we found a little section dedicated to Daphné.
After the museum, we took a stroll around the Japanese garden.
That water looks very uninviting, but those smiles are precious.
Fun shot by Ellie.
I think Jess was pretending to toss Daphné in the water.
Interesting Japanese sculptures.
When we got home, Daphné got out the paints almost immediately and painted this beauty. It is now framed in our entryway.
And then Django asked Daphné to make him a robot with a baby robot inside. This is Daphné’s interpretation. So fun.
Again, you can see the cool recap of the museum here. It was pretty amazing to see this collection. Art really makes me thankful for the one who created beauty, our amazing God!
