Splashing into August

Dear friends and family, I like to be organized, and putting pictures in order is actually really important to me. So, here are some fun pictures from the beginning of August before we left for Austria. As you will see, each picture has to do with swimming in some way.

Our friends from Grenoble came for a visit and invited us to swim at their residence pool. So fun to see you Thomas and Maëva and hang out with your kiddos!

Mamie and Papi found this colorful gem on the side walk. A few strips of duct tape later, and the kids have a bigger pool to slide into.

Our neighbor invited us to use her residence pool. Thank you Eileen! And check out our towels - they are personalized with our names. Thank you Aunt Kellee and Uncle Mark! Ain’t nobody stealing our towels.

Swimming in the big pool.

Hey there good lookin’.

I love this picture so much for so may reasons! They crack me up!

Friday evenings in the summer, we have church beach picnics. Here are the kids playing with their buddy Eliot.

I put this picture in the last blog post, but this is where it lives in chronological land.

The pebbles. The water. My people. That sky. Those clouds.

“May we on this lovely shore lay down our

pretentions of power, shedding the

budendsome dreams of our own grandeur,

and may we find instead

contentment in our creatureliness.”

(from “A Litergy for Arriving at the Ocean” by Douglas Kaine McKelvey)

Amen.
