Mid Summer Days’ Dreams

As I posted this ridiculous amount of pictures (sorry, not sorry), I realized the theme is people. The kids with their friends. Us with our friends. Daphné and Django hanging out together. Me and Tonio hanging out together. All of us hanging out together. And then, there’s a few solo pictures, of course.

Daphné and some of her buddies from school at a pool party.

Me and Barb at church representing red, white and blue on the 4th of July here in France. We’re holding tiny American flags. Haha.

Daphné and Lorena stare in awe at Éloïse.

Django helps Mamie water her flowers.

Daphné at a birthday party.

Django hanging out with his dinosaurs.

What tattoo?

Daphné painting.

Django painting.

Daphné on a date with Papa. Lucky girl got a donut. Yum!

Family day at a pool with friends.

I love this guy.

Lunch with a view.

Tiny pool.

Mamie’s birthday!!!

At the beach with family and friends.

Sand engineering.

So thankful God brought me such an incredible man.

Floating with Papa.

Keeping cool.

And this is my sweet niece Nova. I just love her to pieces, even though I’ve never met her yet. She turned 4 and went to get her nails done with her mama. (thanks Sarah for this photo!)

Django hanging out with pillows.

Making art with my girl. This was the masterpiece from us checking all the markers in the marker bin.

At the King of the Burger, enjoying the air conditioning.

Django planking. Daphné checking fluid levels.

White to brown in Mamie and Papi’s room.

Something special about painting such a dark color on a white wall.

Before and after. You can see that Tonio even redid their flooring. Isn’t it beautiful?!!!

Park with friends.

Slushees and peace signs.

At a concert with friends.

I love that this is our 3rd selfie together this month!!! (record-breaking)

Herbie Hancock was incredible.

At another concert with new friends.

Head massage or torture.

We finally made it to IKEA. Welcome to Django and Daphné’s place.

This guy was born at that hospital. If his right hand could stretch, he would be pointing to the room where he was born.

I take pictures of my outfits on Sundays to send to my mom and Barb. It’s a little Whatsapp group we started during the confinement to stay connected to each other and to fashion. And please know, I’m no fashion guru. I just enjoy putting together outfits sometimes. Otherwise, it’s t-shirts and shorts for this girl.

Another fun day swimming. And I’ll end with a poem by a well-known poet, called “Answer July.”

Answer July—

Where is the Bee—

Where is the Blush—

Where is the Hay?

Ah, said July—

Where is the Seed—

Where is the Bud—

Where is the May—

Answer Thee—Me—

Nay—said the May—

Show me the Snow—

Show me the Bells—

Show me the Jay!

Quibbled the Jay—

Where be the Maize—

Where be the Haze—

Where be the Bur?

Here—said the Year—
