Artwork
As the summer cleaning continues in our home, I have come across so much incredible artwork by our offspring. I hope you enjoy!
Django art
I absolutely love seeing what Django comes up with.
Happy.
Highlighters.
Fun with mama’s stamps.
Tree and light.
Paint face.
Painting geometrically.
Square, circle and black.
He played with texture on this one.
Spaceship.
One of my favorites. It reminds me of Yoda.
Mixed media.
He’s doing so much better with more details.
Lines.
Log man.
My favorite painting he’s done so far.
Car.
Octopus.
Working on his people.
Petit bonhomme.
Some drawings from March at school.
Bold colors.
A certificate of participation at the “Math Party” at school.
His hand is getting more steady with lines.
Daphné and Django created this one together.
These wheels are so fun.
Spells Django if you follow it in the right order. Ha.
Another collaboration of Daphné and Django.
Folding and drawing.
Something from school in February 2022.
Another school project. He told me this was a wolf.
The directions : “I make free-handed curly cues.”
More school work. He painted those lines with water colors and glued the yarn for the wolf.
Christmas 2021 throwback.
December 2021 sponge creation.
Probably from Easter 2022.
…and now…
Daphné art
Rainbow book.
Opens to Papa’s desk. Her attention to detail is so fun, the head phones, computer, notepad…
Small tree.
Tall tree.
Angry face.
Perhaps that’s why he’s so angry. Look at all that craziness in his mouth. Haha!
Plums.
Open to a minion.
With a banana on the back.
“Daphné is playing ball today. She is playing ball with her friend Alice.”
“It was Daphné Petrignani’s birthday.”
“Drawing by Daphné. It’s summer.” I love how she made the sun look so realistically hot with the facial features and hand gesture.
“I am the rock climbing champion.”
Here are 3 books she wrote and illustrated.
Fish.
Fish mouth.
Learning how to draw 3D.
A story she started, but never got past page 2.
She drew all those icons by looking at our phones.
She even designed her own phone case.
Lightning bug.
A story board. I tell you, this girl thinks in stories. It’s so fun for me, because I never have had that gift.
Backpack. She really enjoys this guys youtube channel to learn how to draw things. It’s called Art for Kids Hub, and he draws with his kids https://www.youtube.com/c/ArtforKidsHub
More drawing with Art for Kids Hub.
And more.
Orange heart sun.
Sponge Bob. I think he already got posted in a previous art post - oh well. He’s pretty fun.
Wave and playing with texture with a paint brush that’s seen better days.
Two happy flowers.
Playing with toilet paper rolls as stamps and painting them.
Multi media, stickers and drawing.
A little fairy bug and her habitat.
This drawing stemmed from an evening of coloring when Daphné asked me, “Mom, what should I draw?” “Um, a clown.” “Oh, I have the perfect idea.” And she comes up with this masterpiece. I love it!
Small window. Small house. Small tree. Small girl.
Tall window. Tall house. Tall tree. Tall girl.
Making a computer.
After Daphné got a new suitcase for her week in the mountains, she and Papi Pierre had fun drawing it.
Keys, Coke, Money.
I used to love doing these when I was younger.
Did you?
Popcorn and Coke.
From Nature Week.
More from Nature Week.
This is all me. Daphné had the idea that it would be fun to write our names with “Les Alphas” - a method used here in France to teach young kids sounds.
Storm.
Poppies. One of my favorite crafts she did at school.
Fun with post-its, cardboard and bows at Mamie and Papi’s.
Rainbow.
House and Fish.
These are all done on that Crayola Magic Paper. It turns yellow and fades eventually.
Flying ice cream cone.
This year after organizing the huge party at Django’s school, I was wiped out. Daphné made me an award. “Bravo Mama. I love you so much Mama.” She has the gift of encouragement for sure.
I close with “A Liturgy for Domestic Days” by Douglas Kaine McKelvey, which suits as I’ve been cleaning and enjoying the process in discovering all these works of art :
Many are the things that must be daily done.
Meet me therefore, O Lord,
in the doing of the small, repetitive tasks,
In the cleaning and ordering and
maintenance and stewardship of things—
of dishes, of floors, of carpets
and toilets and tubs,
of scrubbing and sweeping
and dusting and laundering—
That by such stewardship I might bring
a greater order to my own life,
and to the lives of any I am given to serve,
so that in those ordered spaces
bright things might flourish:
fellowship and companionship,
creativity and conversation,
learning and laughter
and enjoyment and health…
…O God, grant that my heart
might be ordered aright,
knowing that all good service
faithfully rendered
is first a service rendered unto you.”
Amen, Love Linz
