Reflecting on March 2022

Bonjour everyone, I hope you are well. It’s time for some reflection. Ready or not, here we go!

1) Name a moment of paradox in March.

2) Where did you see God in March?

3) What’s one arrow you’re following into April?

We have been enjoying inviting people over 2-3 Sundays a month for lunch. Here are some special friends who came over in March, Gor, Miléna, Loréna and Andreas.

1) A moment of paradox.

Definition : a seemingly absurd or contradictory statement or proposition which when investigated may prove to be well founded or true. And as Emily P. Freeman beautifully wrote, “Two contradictory things, held together in one moment in time -- this word paradox could perhaps describe the month of March for all of us.”

I choose two moments. As the sun shone here in Nice, we learned that the north of France was experiencing extreme cold fronts. It even snowed in Paris, while the sun shined brightly here.

And the second is my kids. They fight so well with each other, and they love each other so well. A beautiful paradox.

2) Where I saw God in March.

This question is always hard to answer each month, because I could write a whole book in response. I will pick. Django’s progress with speech in both English and French has been quite humbling and incredible! Over a month ago, the speech therapist told me certain things I needed to be doing that I wasn’t - I felt like a horrible mom. I came home crying, feeling guilty and a bit jealous of moms who don’t have to teach their kids two languages. ENTER GOD. He’s always with us, but you get the picture. Django’s speech has really improved in the last few weeks, probably partly because of what Tonio and I have been doing to help, but also just because God is so gracious. The speech therapist is absolutely flabbergasted by his improvement. I’m so encouraged. We praise the Lord for his provision.

3) One arrow I’m following into April.

I would like to keep working on the podcast. This will probably be news to most of you. I’m preparing to start a podcast. It will be in French. The subject is the enneagram. The art will be done by my friend Crystal. The proofing of my transcripts will be done by Pierre, my father-in-law. The website and recording aspects will be done by my talented husband.

I get discouraged, lose momentum (sometimes my face looks like what you see above), then I get up again, and realize that I cannot wait to do this! I’m so excited. The podcast will be called EnnéAventure. I will keep you posted, but until then, I will S L O W L Y keep writing material for next episodes. It’s one of those things where I just feel called to do it.

That’s all. Thanks for coming along with me as I reflected on the month of March. Also, my grandmother Betty turned 99 in March. She is sharp as a tack and one of my most faithful pen pals. I love you Grandma.

Love Linz
