March Reflection
Hey guys, I know we are already 9 days into April, but I wanted to take some time to reflect on March. This simple practice, inspired by Emily P. Freeman, really helps me keep a healthy perspective on life and see the Lord in how He works in the simple and complex ways.
Here are the questions :
1. Where did you see God in March?
2. When did you feel the most like yourself in March?
3. What is one word you’re holding onto as we move into April?
1. Where I saw God in March.
Sometimes to find inspiration to answer these questions, I scroll through pictures. I noticed something this month. I had so many fun moments with the kids at parks and at the beach. I saw God in how beautiful our kids are. I saw God in how they relate to other kids. I saw God in their joy. I saw God in how He gave me strength. March brought much fatigue, hard news (schools closing for 3 weeks in April due to Covid), but it also brought wonderful news of the birth of my new sweet nephew, Nils, on the 31st of March. I saw God in how He answered our prayers for a healthy birth for mama and baby.
2. When I felt most like myself in March.
Leading our church in worship of Jesus on Sunday morning.
Communicating with my friends Julie and Leah on Marco Polo.
Writing thank you post cards to everyone who sent me a birthday card.
Listening to podcasts like The Next Right Thing, The Lazy Genius, Your Enneagram Coach, Calvary Chapel Vero Beach.
Getting good rest.
3. A word I’m holding onto as we move into April.
REST. I came up with this word in thinking about April and having the kids home almost 24/7. I couldn’t help but feel tired and overwhelmed before April even arrived. Thus, I chose a word to help me be intentional about my time. If you know me, you know I cannot rest in my own home. It’s SO. HARD. FOR. ME. to rest if the house is in a state of chaos. Since we live in a small apartment with two small kids, chaos is normal. Thus, I take five minutes here and there to lay down on the balcony or on my bed. Tonio is such a huge help! In fact, as I’m writing this blog, he took the kids out on their bikes to pick up kebabs to go eat them at the park. Thus, I’m so thankful. Also, I have had help from Papi and my friend Caroline. Mamie is unavailable, because she is blessing my brother and sister-in-law in Paris with the addition of their new family member. :)
Thanks for joining me today. I want to share this verse of the day that popped up on my phone. It goes along with what Tonio is teaching on Sundays in Philippians.
“Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance.” -Colossians 3:12
Please know you are loved
By a God who knows you
More than you know yourself, truly.
